“We will certainly provide better models. It’s also great to see a competitor. “We will increase some of our releases,” said he.

Altman said that the startup would continue on its current roadmap and access to significant computational resources is still crucial.

The head of ChatGPT developer said that the world would want to make use of a great deal of AI. They will also be surprised at the next generation of models.

Nvidia shares dropped by double digits after the release of DeepSeek R1. This model was able to offer capabilities similar to those of leading neural networks, but at a much lower price. It raised doubts as the reason for billions in investments made into graphics cards.

DeepSeek was hailed by chip developers as “an outstanding achievement” in the field of artificial intelligence.

Nvidia said that DeepSeek’s work shows how neural networks are created by using the Test Time Scaling technique, which uses widely-available models and computing resources. This method is fully compliant with export controls.

The company’s stock fell 17% during trading on the 27th of January. This was the first time in many years that a decline of this magnitude had occurred.
