When will Hamster Kombat be listed: Rumors and community reactions

The long-awaited token listing from the Hamster Kombat game appears to have been postponed. What rumors are circulating in the community, and when can we expect HMSTR to appear on the exchanges?

Users of the popular clicker Hamster Kombat have waited several months for the game’s cryptocurrency to be listed on the crypto exchanges. The HMSTR listing has been postponed since May. In recent weeks, the crypto community has been waiting with bated breath for the listing to take place in July.

However, the month is almost over, and the Hamster Kombat team remains silent, fueling all sorts of rumors and giving rise to speculation.

What is known about the HMSTR listing

It has long been discussed that the listing of the HMSTR currency and its subsequent distribution should take place in July. However, the game developers have not made direct statements about the listing with specific deadlines.

On July 17, the Russian-language Telegram channel reported that the developers of Hamster Kombat announced an imminent listing on the CoinDCX exchange and hinted that an airdrop of tokens could happen in the next 24 hours. Later, the post about the alleged airdrop and listing was deleted, but local media paid attention to the news.

However, the official project roadmap contains no details about the coin’s listing. According to current data, the TGE (token generation event) and token in-game utility launch are expected in July.

One reason for the uncertainty in Hamster Kombat’s listing date may be the sagging market. Many crypto projects are postponing listings on exchanges due to the market downturn. Top cryptocurrencies are starting to fall, and therefore, it is not profitable to enter an exchange with a listing at this particular moment.

What does the crypto community say?

The longer the Hamster Kombat team remains silent, the more rumors and negative sentiment in the community grow.

Users note that the 250 million-strong Hamster Kombat community is eagerly awaiting news about the listing, but so far, they are losing hope.

“The users are losing their Hope on the game. And we know that you won’t disappoint the users.”

Another member of X noted that the project team doesn’t care about the listing; they are just “enjoying YouTube money.”

One more user predicted that the community would be hugely disappointed if the listing didn’t happen in July:

“If the July listing doesn’t appear, the community will definitely be disappointed and disband, the entire Hamster Kombat channel could be destroyed.”

At the same time, the largest Hamster Kombat fan community in X published a post with news and an upcoming listing. The post is about the imminent launch of the token on eight major exchanges. However, no other details are provided.

Listing uncertainty grabs scammers’ attention

Kaspersky Lab said that, amid expectations for the token’s launch, scammers began to steal Telegram user accounts under the guise of a service for withdrawing money from Hamster Kombat.

The scheme works like this: attackers send links to a resource for authorization in the service. Through it, users can supposedly withdraw coins from Hamster Kombat. They must enter their credentials on the open page to do this. This is how scammers gain access to personal accounts in the messenger.

“For example, in the case of Hamster Kombat, the scammers assured that the payment should occur within 15 minutes after successful authorization in Telegram.”

Olga Svistunova, senior content analyst at Kaspersky Lab

Phishers’ goal is to lure out a phone number and verification code. Attackers can use this access to accounts for various purposes, including stealing confidential data, blackmailing, and sending fraudulent messages to your contact list.

With rising cheating cases, Russia may be the first country to ban Hamster Kombat officially. The head of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market, Anatoliy Aksakov, called the hamster’s “tapping” “obvious fraud” and “manipulation and exploitation of the psychology of citizens.”

Who to ask about listing?

The Hamster Kombat team has maintained anonymity throughout its existence, but recently, the media found out who is behind the popular game — Russian businessman Eduard Gurinovich.

However, Gurinovich stated that he and his team became Russia’s exclusive partner in the Hamster Kombat game. They bought the rights to the trademark and will be responsible for working with the local community.

“The project team gave us the right to officially register the trademark “HAMSTER KOMBAT” due to the growing wave of scammers worldwide. Russian players have often been targeted by phishing attacks and deception by scammers, and even now, we continue to fight this.”

What is the secret of Hamster Kombat’s popularity?

The whole world has been captured by the latest trend—gaming clickers that allow users to earn real money. The massive interest in such products can be explained by the successful promotion of these games and their viral effect.

That being said, Mark Long, the gaming industry and veteran CEO of Shrapnel, explains that the success of the acclaimed clicker reflects the changing nature of games, which are gradually beginning to embrace blockchain technology and the concept of earning money while you play.

“Most developers outside the crypto converted are still skeptical of blockchain’s ability to attract players of any significant numbers. But considering Hamster Kombat has amassed over 200 million players in the span of a few months, it is clear that narrative needs to change.”

Mark Long, Shrapnel CEO

Thus, with the listing of Hamster Kombat, we can expect an even greater wave of popularity for the Tap-to-Earn mechanic. However, for now, the uncertainty of the listing is fueling rumors in the crypto community, which is waiting for the trading of the coveted token.
