In this video I’m going to cover some important things to consider before using MetaMask. MetaMask is a browser extension that lets you interact with Ethereum-based applications in a secure and user-friendly way. It’s an incredibly powerful tool, but it also has some important considerations to keep in mind.
First, MetaMask is a hot wallet, meaning that it stores your private keys in the browser, so if someone were to gain access to your computer, they could potentially access your funds. To mitigate this risk, you can set up a pin code and/or back up your seed phrase in a safe place.
Second, MetaMask can be quite resource-intensive, so if you have a slow computer or low-end device, it may not be the best option for you.
Third, MetaMask does not currently support non-Ethereum networks, so if you’re looking to interact with other blockchains, you’ll need to use a different wallet.
Fourth, MetaMask is not a fully regulated entity and does not guarantee or insure your funds, so you must take responsibility for the security of your funds.
Finally, MetaMask is constantly evolving, so it is important to keep up to date with their latest updates.
